To help continue to make sure the area is an attractive and desirable place to live, it is essential that the development provides access to existing, new or enhanced services and facilities. Design features and practical measures of the proposals include:

  • Good access to the existing Sinfin District Centre with its wide range of services.
  • New local shops in accessible locations.
  • Good access by a choice of means of travel to existing services and facilities located further away, including the city centre.
  • At least one new Primary School with the capacity to grow as the number of school age children increases in the local area.
  • Land available to allow for the expansion of facilities at Derby City Academy, if it chooses to do so.
  • Integration of walking, cycling and public transport routes to ensure all residents have the ability to access services and facilities.
  • Phased development with services, facilities and infrastructure provided in good time to meet the needs of the growing local population.
  • Contributions to help the capacity of local services to increase - existing residents will not be ‘crowded out’ of existing services by the increase in the number of people
